The owner of the company himself said it would be free for as long as Fences 4 was available for purchase at Stardock proper - that is an 8-month window and thousands of free licenses, James. We also had discussions about how long a window would we provide free upgrades to prior Fences 3 purchasers on Steam. Fences, Start, and Groupy (to name a few) all have that distinction, no competitor comes close to what we offer with each. As such, we need to ensure our products are not only priced fairly but at points that enable us to keep updating them - to have them remain at the top of their genre. We are indeed a small independent studio. Oh you finally added one feature everyone's been asking for? Well pat yourself on the back, well done, but you're absolutely insane if you think I should open my wallet in appreciation for something your product planning failed to scope and include in the first place. I feel ashamed for being your customer, but certainly won't be ever again.
